High Line Facility

The High Line park has gotten approval to build a new "Maintenance and Operations" building, at Gansevoort and Washington Streets. This 4 story building will be built next to the High Line, and connecting with it to allow maintenance vehicles to access the above ground park. The building will also be next to the soon-to-come downtown Whitney Museum, and has been designed to compliment the museum. The building will include an elevator up to the High Line, as well as public restrooms, and facilities to help High Line staff easily service and maintain the park. Scoop Holiday Shopping Party

This Saturday, December 4th from 2-5pm, Scoop NYC will be holding their Ultimate Holiday Shopping Party in the Scoop Men's and Women's stores on Washington Street, between 13th and 14th Streets in the Meatpacking District. Ladies can join Lynda Greenblatt from INHERITED CHIC to shop for vintage jewelry and men can browse the racks with Michael Macko, editor of Valet Magazine.

The Darby

The Darby, a new "Supper Club" on 14th Street in the space previously occupied by Nell's and The Plumm has recently opened. This lavish space is red and gold everywhere, and features a partially open kitchen and a stage for their house band. The menu is prepared by Chef Alexandra Guarnaschelli, also the chef at Butter on Lafayette Street, and will feature her take on classics, like Oysters Rockefeller and Lobster Newberg. Levi's Meatpacking now open!

The new Levi's premium denim store in the Meatpacking District is now officially open, having held it's opening party last Thursday night. The store features Levi's Vintage Collection, as well as collaboration lines with BILLYKIRK, Filson, Pendleton and Billy Reid. Towards the back of the store, check out their tailoring and customization area for those looking for the perfect pair of jeans. Click here for more pictures.

AllSaints coming to the Meatpacking District

AllSaints Spitafields has signed a lease at 415 West 13th Street, and will soon be opening their second NYC stand alone store. The store will take up a 12,000 square foot space, with a ground floor and basement level. Allsaints is a British clothing brand geared towards a younger crowd, featuring current stylish mens and womenswear. More info from NY Magazine here.

Maison Bellaish

Check out the NY Times' feature on Maison Bellaish, one of the newer shops in the Meatpacking District. Maison Bellaish is a NYC outpost for Victor Bellaish's line of silk dresses and other elaborate evening wear, offering made to order services.
Located at 36 Little West 12th Street, Maison Bellaish will be holding a trunk show from November 17-19th.

Small Business Saturday

The City of New York has partnered with American Express to start "Small Business Saturday". Everyone knows thanksgiving weekend has "Black Friday" and "Cyber Monday", so American Express is going to help smaller shops, stores and restaurants attract customers on a day of their own.
Smaller shops cannot offer the huge discounts seen on Black Friday, but they can offer their own types of incentives, and American Express is pledging to provide $100 in Facebook advertising to 10,000 small business owners.

Tzigan

Just recently opened is "Tzigan", a new gilded lounge and late night hangout, directly below La Gazetta, as part of Villa Pacri. Tzigan is open Thursday through Saturday nights, from 10:30pm to 4am. Operated by the owners of Bagatelle and RdV, Tzigan is covered in gold; from the furniture to the walls. Check out their coverage in the NY Times here.
