The gift guide has been distributed at all participating merchants, as well as in several hotels and other outlets city wide. Also included are gift ideas under $50, so let the holiday shopping begin!

Good Food Festival - October 9th
The Good Food Festival, presented by Basis Foods in association with the MPIA, returns for its second year this weekend! This annual event showcases good food that is traditional, locally-sourced and 100% traceable from over 50 of New York's finest chefs, restaurants, artisans and farms.
Good Food Festival features restaurant and chef tastings from over 20 of New York's brightest chefs and restaurants including Gramercy Tavern, Perry St, Pastis, Marc Forgione, Dell'anima, BLT Bar & Grill and Van Leeuwen. New this year, will be the Good Food for Kids family programming, including butter and pickle making, summer roll lessons, and more.
The event is free to attend. Tickets are required to sample tastings from participating chefs and restaurants, and are now available for purchase online at goodfoodfest.com.
Also, purchase tickets to the post-festival private reception to mingle with the chefs and farmers from the Good Food Festival, at The Standard, New York's Garden Rooms. All proceeds benefit The FEED Foundation and God's Love We Deliver.

Join the Italian Trade Commission on Gansevoort Plaza in a celebration of Italian heritage and quality throughout the Meatpacking District. Stop by the welcome tent located on Gansevoort Plaza on June 15 or 16 from 5-8PM to get all the information on participating stores, restaurants, and their associated discounts or promotions as well as grab some light bites, beverages and the Shop Italy, NYC VIP shopping card!
Shop Italy, NYC is a month long series of events between June 15th and July 7th-- kicking off in the Meatpacking District. See the Fashion Italian Style website for more information.

DeBragga & Spitler
Eater.com has interviewed meat purveyors Marc Sarrazin and George Faison for Eater's 2011 Burger Week. Marc and George are both co-owners of Debragga & Spitler, an artisanal butcher and meat purveyor in the Meatpacking District. As one of the few meatpacking companies left in the MPD, Debragga provides meat to many of NYC's well known restaurants, including nearby Colicchio & Son's. Debragga sells meat wholesale to restaurants and operates a website for individuals to purchase great cuts of meat as well. Check out the interview here, and Debragga's website here.

The MPIA was created with the intention of partnering with the NYC Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) to redesign, manage and maintain the public spaces of our neighborhood, while continuing to represent and promote the area’s business interests, produce events and manage a marketing and public relations campaign for the neighborhood.
