DISTRICT PROFILE: Alexandra Romanoff

Name: Alexandra Romanoff
Title: Food & Beverage Account Executive at Berk Communications and Founder of @onemoredish.
Organization/Business: Berk Communications / @onemoredish
Social: @onemoredish
What do you do, and how did you get here?
I am a food, beverage, restaurant and chef publicist. I have worked with TAO Restaurant Group, LDV Hospitality, Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer, HHG Hospitality, Champagne Armand de Brignac, Brother Jimmy’s and more. I also run the food blog @onemoredish.
After graduating from the George Washington University in 2013 with a BA in Communications and after countless internships in Fashion Public Relations, I truly thought that I wanted to go into that field. Instead of just jumping into something I decided to go to graduate school at NYU for Corporate Communications and Public Relations. This was a turning point in my life. First off, because I started @onemoredish and secondly because I realized that I wanted to pursue a career in the restaurant industry. During graduate school I worked for Tasting Table& The New York City Wine & Food Festival – I never looked back. I now live and breathe food. Whether it is trying a new dish, dining with my digital influencer friends or making sure to be at the opening of a new restaurant, it is all so exciting to me.
What do you love about Meatpacking?
Meatpacking is my home! I grew up coming to the Meatpacking District and have watched the neighborhood transform before my eyes. In the Meatpacking District there are the best restaurants, shopping, views, activities and more. There is a sense of community that I do not feel in any other neighborhood in Manhattan.
If you had 15 minutes, how will you spend it in the neighborhood?
This is a tough one! But if I only had 15 minutes I would get Ample Hills Creamery and walk on the High Line.
If you had a few hours, how would you ideally spend the day?
I would visit as many restaurants as I could, hopping from place to place! Trying new dishes is one of my favorite things to do.
Where do you go to escape the crowds? People watch?
I love to people watch sitting outside at Barbuto or Bubby’s. I have seen maybe celebrities at both locations. It is simply the best.
Where will you recommend for a great cocktail or bite?
It depends what you are in the mood for. One of my new favorites in the district is Santina. I love the dishes, décor and cocktails! You can always count on having a solid night out by going there.
What’s your most memorable moment or experience in Meatpacking?
As I mentioned, I have been coming to the Meatpacking District my whole life. I think my most memorable moment here was when I moved to the area permanently. It is an exciting place to be every day!
Of all the personalities you can think of (whether you know the person or not), whom would you want to grab a drink with?
In addition to being obsessed with food, I also love fashion. That said, I would definitely grab a drink with DVF. She is very inspiring and a true role model.
