A THANKSGIVING PSA FROM TIM ANDERSON
November 23, 2015
As Thanksgiving Day gets closer, I think back to past years of stuffing myself to the point of no return, literally feeling like a stuffed turkey. Not this year! Here are a few simple tips to help keep from repeating last year’s “Stuffed Turkey Syndrome.”
- Don’t wait until the “big” meal to eat. Snack throughout the day to keep from feeling like a ravenous animal by the time dinner comes around. Fruits, nuts, veggies, hummus, cheese, etc.
- Plate size & portion control. Growing up I was always told to finish everything on my plate. Still to this day, an empty plate means I’m done. Consider using a smaller plate to help with portion control.
- Drink lots of water. This will help you feel fuller longer. (Of course save some room for the holiday drink of your choice.)
