Beyond the Cup: More Than Just Coffee
September 27, 2019
Coffee drinking is an experience, and one to be savored. Good coffee is easy to come by in Meatpacking, but sometimes the day calls for something beyond your go-to caffeinated pick-me-up. This National Coffee Day, sip and savor something new and check out the shops that offer more than the average cup of joe.
There’s a flight for that
Beer flights move over, curated coffee flights are a thing. At Starbucks Roastery, enhance your coffee experience with a menu full of different flights. From chocolate truffle pairings, cold brew flights and espresso flights, you’re bound to learn or taste something new.
Shop the season’s latest
Jack’s Stir Brew in the neighborhood is situated within rag + bone so you can shop the effortless urban styles while sipping on brew. Fun fact, rag + bone HQ is located right above the store in Meatpacking.
A side of cardamom bun
Fabrique may have opened only a few months ago, but this Swedish bakery is taking the neighborhood by storm. Walk down 14th street and you’re sure to get hit in the face (in the best way possible) with a waft of cardamom and butter. Grab a cup of coffee and cardamom bun to stay awhile and enjoy the Swedish hospitality. While you sit, you will more than likely be offered more treats to try as the staff regularly passes them around the shop.
Latte with the latest technology
Walk through Samsung’s 837 space and head up the stairs to grab an NYC favorite, Maman coffee. FYI – they’re launching their Organic Pumpkin Spice Latte October 1. After you grab your PSL, make sure to take a photo session, listen in on a weekly panel, or try the latest VR experience all with a latte in hand at Samsung 837.
Bagel meets coffee
Nothing says “I’m a New Yorker” more than a coffee and bagel. Melissa Weller from High Street on Hudson is churning out some of the best bagels in the city, just ask Eater. Grab a cup of joe and a salt and pepper bagel from the front counter and sit on the barstools next to the window, watching the world go by.
Clinking glasses instead of mugs
Enjoy your favorite morning beverage in cocktail form at Kobrick Coffee. Barista’s turn mixologists take your caffeine buzz to another level.
