ICYMI: A Love Letter to NY
June 18, 2020
This week, The Meatpacking District teamed up with Lewis Miller Design and L.E.A.F to host a floral installation on Gansevoort Plaza. The installation spelled out “I ♥ N Y” as part of a series of “Flower Flashes” around New York City.
During what has been a difficult few months, New Yorkers have proven their strength and love for one another. In honor of the City’s fortitude, the floral installation was for New York, as we stand together, rally behind one another, and support each other. We love our city and know we’ll come back stronger as ever.
Each letter within the Gansevoort Plaza installation was over six feet tall, and contained more than 2,000 flowers.
Flowers included purple, pink, orange and yellow roses, lilies, football mums, spider mums, snap fragos, peonies, delphiniums and more.
Designer Lewis Miller puts the finishing touches on the installation.
Other installations included hearts at Hudson and Spring Street and outside the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn.
