Spring Essentials: Menswear
April 23, 2018
Though the weather seemed like it couldn’t make up its mind, warmer days have finally arrived. Early spring has its distinct traits: the teaser days of 70 degrees in March before snow falls in April, hope that the cold is truly gone as crocus and daffodils peek above ground, and for many, a yearning to wear a short-sleeved shirt with a jacket, maybe show a little ankle and leave the socks at home and feel freer wearing your white sneakers again. Be ready for it all with fresh looks and seasonal essentials, all found around Meatpacking.
You can find all the pieces below at 20% or more at Swing Into Spring on April 24.
The Trench:
In print or in a classic solid, on rainy days or sunny ones with cool breezes, the trench does no wrong.
The Kooples, Navy Blue Trench
The Kooples, Red and Beige Check Long Trench Coat
Pants:
Downtown at the office or for the weekend, it’s spring, try stepping out of the “I’m wearing black because it matches my soul” mantra.
Helmut Lang, Carpenter Pant
Sweaters:
It’s still going to be cool in the morning and likely in the evening, too. With or without an oxford under, spring shifts bring us the light merinos and woven linens that take you straight through summer.
Zadig & Voltaire, Jeremy Merinos Sweater
The Kicks:
Unless your white shoes never touch the ground, a new pair each season is prudent, plain and simple. And GQ has white kicks high up on the list of the seven shoes men need in their closet at all times.
Vince, Noble Suede Sneakers
The Tote:
Tablet, magazine, change of socks and underware – you need something to carry it in. And in case you stop at the market for a vegetable or two, this will store it.
Theory, Colorblocked Market Tote
Swim suit:
Summer is coming. Just get ready for it now.
Mr. Turk, Matador Swim Trunk
Do as you will with your wardrobe and use the season as an excuse to try something new.
