The Plazas are back
August 15, 2019
The Meatpacking District officially celebrated the re-opening of over 20,000 square feet of public plazas, a new bike lane on Ninth Avenue, upwards of 30 trees and 2,600 shrubs and perennials across large garden-like planters to the neighborhood. Thank you to the elected officials, friends, and neighbors who helped celebrate. If you haven’t seen the new plazas yet, be sure to stop by and enjoy the space.
The BID’s Executive Director, Jeffrey LeFrancois, was also interviewed on CBS New York about the transformation of the neighborhood. Check out that story here.
