The Upside Down meets Wakanda in Meatpacking
July 10, 2019
This summer has been dominated by The Avengers and the return of the Mind Flayer and if you thought you could escape the reach of Marvel and Stranger Things in Meatpacking, think again. Two district favorites, Ample Hills Creamery and SneakersNStuff, joined in on the hype created by these pop culture powerhouses.
Ample Hills Creamery recently released three new flavors to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Marvel Comics. The flavors are inspired by Black Panther, Captain America and Spider-Man. The Black Panther ice cream is a “black raspberry ice cream mixed with chunks of housemade single-origin Wakandan chocolate fudge.” The Captain America ice cream is an “old-fashioned vanilla malt ice cream with pieces of housemade Brooklyn Blackout cake and ribbons of chocolate pudding.” The Spider-Man ice cream is a “sweet cream ice cream with swirls of cherry pie filling and pieces of housemade flaky crust.”
Netflix’s Stranger Things and Nike Sportswear teamed up for a limited-edition collection for the release of season 3. The collection features apparel and five classic Nike sneakers inspired by Hawkins High. You can find the pieces at SneakersNStuff.
Put on your new Hawkins hoodie, grab a pint of ice cream, and binge-watch the new season of Stranger Things and every Marvel movie still on Netflix.
