Treat Yo’ Self Tuesday: Last Taste of Summer
September 12, 2017
The calendar may say that summer is done, and convention may say that you shouldn’t wear white anymore, but we feel like September is the new summer. We’ve rounded up five must-dos if you want to hold onto the season a bit longer.
Pineapple Express -Pineapple Sundae with Exotic Fruits- $10
This Chelsea Market pop up is everything you’ve always wanted when it comes to frozen desserts. “If you like pina coladas, and getting caught in the rain,” then the Pineapple Sundae is for you. It’s a refreshing [guiltless] treat that is vegan and dairy free and comes in a tropical coconut shell. Better yet, the Pineapple Sundae is topped with a blend of dragon fruit, pomegranate, mangoes, and pineapples (obvi). Run, don’t walk to Chelsea Market to devour this delightful frozen creation because Pineapple Express is only open through September 30.
The Beach at the Dream Downtown – $60 weekday passes
Taking a mini staycation has never looked so good. This insta-worthy oasis brings you to the beach without having to board a train/bus and leave the city. The Beach houses a 5,000 sq ft deck, imported sand, Cote D’Azur-inspired chaise lounges, two private cabanas, DJ booth and a glass-bottom swimming pool that looks down into the hotel lobby. At the Dream, it’s not too late to start living your best beach life {before it closes for the season).
Exhale Spa- Tahitian Body Scrub- 60 min: $180
What better way to welcome Fall than with exfoliated skin and the smell of summer. Stop by Exhale Spa for the Tahitian Body Scrub where you’ll go [coco]nuts over their lemongrass and coconut sugar scrub with Tahitian oils. After the body is exfoliated, nutrient-rich oils (macadamia nut, acai, and passion fruit) will hydrate your skin and lock in moisture for radiant results, and leave you with a summer glow, in spite of the date on the calendar.
Plunge Rooftop – Plunge Pops- $10
Head to Plunge to try their Plunge Pops, their booze-infused popsicles for some rooftop fun. Make the end of summer a little sweeter and childlike with these delights, available in three flavors: Coco Rose, Orange Pinot Gris, and Fruity Sangria. They’re $10 each, which is pretty sweet and the cheapest #adulting you can get your hands [and mouth] on.
Sweat Sessions for Good – Workout Classes – $20
No more summer means no more Sweat Sessions…or so you thought. On September 12, sweat it out one final time and pay it forward. Join the Meatpacking District, The Wellth Collective, and Lululemon as we raise money for Yoga Foster, a nonprofit that empowers school teachers with yoga and mindfulness for the classroom. Classes start at 4:30pm, 5:30pm, 6:30pm, and 7:30pm. Reserve a mat here.
